"Play Your Music" as a Server

In the past few weeks, we have been talking about how we grow in our faith by learning, and worshipping, and praying, and giving. Today we’ll be talking about something that seems to come naturally (when it’s something we want to do), but becomes a challenge when we step out of our comfort zone-and that is serving. What does it mean to serve each other? What makes it different than serving God?
...and the notes
Scripture to help us to grow as “Servers”

The Golden Rule: Matthew 7:12 So in everything do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

Our Gifts are Unique: Romans 12:6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given us.

We do not have to earn our salvation through works: Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing: it is the gift of God—not the result of works...

God equips us for serving: Ephesians 4:11-12 The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ...

God blesses what we do in service: James 1:22-25 But be doers of the word, and not merely hearers who deceive themselves. For if any are hearers of the word and not doers, they are like those who look at themselves in a mirror; for they look at themselves and, on going away, immediately forget what they were like. But those who look into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and persevere, being not hearers who forget but doers who act—they will be blessed in their doing.

Jesus sets the example: John 13:14-15 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.
